At UPL, we are committed to harnessing the transformative power of diversity and inclusion to create not only better workplaces but better lives. We recognize the impact of unconscious biases, which are behaviours ingrained through social conditioning, devoid of malintent. Acknowledging these biases and actively working to make impartial decisions is essential to foster empathy and inclusion.In 2022, we took significant strides by conducting workshops for our leaders and managers. These workshops aimed to enhance their understanding of unconscious biases, enabling them to recognize and address them effectively. The results were promising, and many have taken meaningful actions to manage these biases in their decision-making processes.Creating an inclusive organization stands as a strategic priority for us, corroborated by the findings from our Culture Survey and our Employee Value Proposition (EVP). To this end, we are excited to announce our commitment to building a collective understanding of various unconscious biases that may influence our day-to-day interactions as colleagues, team members, and individuals. Our upcoming self-paced elearning workshop “Power of Inclusion – Unconscious Bias Workshop” is an immersive and participatory workshop is designed to sensitize ourselves to the nuances of diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to equip ourselves with practical tools and actionable strategies to work through these biases, ensuring a more inclusive and harmonious workplace.This initiative is a testament to our dedication to nurturing an environment where every voice is heard, and every perspective is valued. We believe that together, we can create a workplace that reflects our shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the wellbeing of our teams.
